Ferry Trip - Gabon to Poland, Day Zero

I feel like a five year old the week before a trip to Disney.  We're busy prepping for one of thee coolest ferry flights I've ever been involved with; departing the jungles of Gabon overflying Equatorial Guinea, then Cameroon, to Nigeria.  Stop in to see some old mates, then Togo, Benin and Ghana, possibly overnighting at each.  There's a few stops in Cote D'Ivoire, assuming the permits get sorted, then Liberia, Guinea, Senegal.  I've got another good buddy working in Dakar so definitely an overnight there. Then stops in The Islamic Republic of Mauritania,  a couple in the Western Sahara, eventually through my old stomping grounds in Morocco, hoping to see more old friends.  There's an overnight stop planned for Tangiers I'm really looking forward to.  Then finally leaving Africa, up through Spain, France, through the Alps of Switzerland and Austria, eventually into Poland, all behind the controls of an L2 Super Puma.  Yeah Baby!  There's been tons of VISA issues and planning hiccups and equipment snafus, crew changes, parts hand carried in from Europe crucial for the trip.  Haven't even left yet and we're already having fun.  Still some boxes to tick, customs and immigration to deal with, may spend most of tomorrow at the Liberian embassy in Libreville, hopefully secure our export permits today, but departure is getting close.

GPSs and iPads are all set up and programmed, but some old school back up still has it's place....
